Consequence has released a new song featuring the late Phife Dawg. Titled “No Place Like Home,” the song was recorded around the same time as the last A Tribe Called Quest album, We Got It from Here…Thank You 4 Service.
Phife passed away at the age of 45 on March 22, 2016. Earlier this year, Phife was honored with his very own day in Oakland, California. Oakland declared May 17 “Phife Dawg Day” following an event that honored A Tribe Called Quest in San Francisco. Phife’s mother, Cheryl Boyce Taylor, his widow, Deisha Head Taylor, and producer Starita (who engineered We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service) were present at the event.
